    2022 YEAR IN REVIEW

    I’M A LEGIT PREACHER NOW 🙂

CredentialsIn January of 2022 I started the process of re-applying for my Licensed Minister Credentials with the PAOC as I had let them lapse since I had my son Brandon. I never stopped ministering, I just didn’t have credentials.

At the end of June, I found out they were reinstated. In October, the week of our Refresh Conference, Todd and I attended the WOD Minister’s Gathering in Collingwood, Ontario. There were powerful services where you could feel the presence of God. We had such a great time visiting with old friends and making new ones.

85 Female pastors Table at the 2022 WOD Minister's Gathering I was super excited to attend the breakfast for female ministers. There were 85 in attendance!!! At my table of 7, five were Lead Pastors and two of us in non-traditional ministries. I think our fellowship is changing in positive ways toward women! Praying this happens in all churches around the world.

2022 BEST BLOG OF THE YEAR AWARD

Won The Best Blog of The Year AwardIn the fall of 2022, I received The Word Awards – Best Blog of The Year award for writing in 2021 from The Word Guild; Canada’s most highly esteemed Christian Writer’s Guild. This is the second award the blog has won, but this time it’s the highest award a blog can receive. WHOOT! WHOOT! I can’t tell you how much this meant.

    FIRST REFRESH LIVE WOMEN’S CONFERENCE!!!!!!

On October 22, 2022… dreams came true for me and my team! Since 2019 we’ve been talking about, planning and preparing for running live events… and then gave up as lockdowns seemed to never end. So, when in August it seemed the Lockdowns were really over, we quickly began planning our first-ever Refresh Conference for women!

We’ve heard such life-changing testimonies from women and are excited to get planning for our next one. With just over 230 women in attendance, we raised $1,542.00 in the offering for our missions trip to Kenya! One girl attending has signed up to go with us to Kenya (possibly another) but more women expressed interest in coming on future Missions trips with us (Check the next one out in the 2023 Visions section).

    BACK TO IN-PERSON EVENTS

We were able to be a part of the annual Single Mom’s Event at Braeside Camp again. Jenn Chamberlain from our team joined me and led the girls in fun with games and giveaways. I spoke on the Friday night and for a seminar session on Saturday morning.

See Hear Love Christmas Event SpeakingIn December I was back to traveling for speaking! I spent a week in the GTA, speaking in Newmarket at Cedarview Commutity Church to over 225 women and did a little sharing at the See, Hear, Love TV Show Christmas Event held at the Crossroads Centre for my friend Melinda Estabrooks. • God Created You To Dream

Today’s #soulh2o devotion God Created You To Dream, is a topic taken from the Soul H2O Radio – Episode #3 Learning How To Dream Again releasing this Saturday on Joy Radio. It’s with TV Host and Life Coach, my lifelong friend; Wendy Pauls but it’s not really one focussed on in the show and really talks about things the episode doesn’t even touch on.  I really feel that this Soul H2O Devotion is going to be a HUGE key or mind-shift to unlock hidden things for many of you.

    God Created You To Dream

The boy Samuel served the LORD in Eli's presence.
In those days the word of the LORD was rare
and prophetic visions were not widespread.
    1 Samuel 3:1 HCSB

Have you ever woken up and got moving along in your day when all of a sudden you remember the crazy dream you had the night before? Ever thought it was so weird that you’d be embarrassed to tell anyone the details because they’d send you straight to counseling session…  or am I the only one?  Chances are, you’ve had an outrageous dream before too and trust me, you’re in good company.

In my research, I could find about 26 dreams recorded in the Bible and some of them were off-the-charts insane.

I found there were dreamers who were kings, a farmer, two guys named Joseph, a couple of Pharaoh’s, prophet dreamers, wise men, soldiers, pastors, evangelists, some guys in prison; one a cupbearer and the other guy was a baker but only one chick in the bunch! I’ve gotta say, I found that last fact shocking because my girlfriends have had some doozies.

The point I’m trying to make here is that God created EVERYONE with the ability to dream.

It doesn’t make a difference if your home is a mansion, you’re staying in a stable or if your current living arrangement is a jail cell—God created you to dream…  and I believe that more often than not, He’s trying to talk to you through them.

Think, if God was giving an important message that would save millions of people’s lives through a dream of skinny cows eating fat cows, then maybe, just maybe He’s trying to communicate with you through what you might be deeming as a “too-much-pizza-at-night” dream you can’t forget. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about here, make sure you listen to this week’s episode.)

    GOD WANTS YOU TO DREAM

If you’re still wondering if God created you to dream, I hope today’s verse will help you to see that He does simply because God really doesn’t like it when people don’t dream. The verse talks about a time in history when society wasn’t having dreams and visions from God. Samuel writes about this as a problem,

“in those days the word of the LORD was rare and visions were scarce.”

This isn’t how God wants it and in case you’re still not wanting to take my word for it, why not take God’s? That God created you to dream, so you can hear from Him is such cornerstone message He wants you to grasp that He repeats Himself in the Old and New Testament to make it crystal clear.

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
    Joel 2:28

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.”
    Acts 2:17-18

It wasn’t good that people weren’t dreaming and hearing from God when Samuel was young and you see in the next few verses after this statement above how God began to speak to and through Samuel from that point on.  It all started with a crazy “dream” hearing knocking at the door.

I want to encourage you to consider that the dreams you’ve been having, those inklings or random thoughts you keep thinking might be God trying to speak to you.  Don’t dismiss everything and assume God speaking to people was only for Bible times; He hasn’t changed, God still speaks and I believe He’s increasing His prophetic voice in our world today as the hunger to hear increases.

    DREAM DECODING

If this devotion has piqued your interest in understanding dreams, I encourage you to read a book that has greatly helped me stop dismissing and start understand dreams or thoughts I thought might have been from God (I’ll have to explain that one in a future post). The book is, Seeing The Voice of God by Laura Harris-Smith.  Laura’s ‘Dream Dictionary’ in the middle of the book but is so helpful but I encourage you to read it all to understand how God speaks.

    PRAYER

Father… I’m so thankful that You speak to me. Your Word confirms this truth.  Sometimes I struggle to believe this reality and dismiss Your voice in my life.  Please forgive me for this and help me to consider and better discern when You’re speaking.  Help me to become increasingly aware and attune to Your voice.  In Jesus Name…Amen

  • Follow Your Dream {Wherever} It Leads

“Now give me this hill country
    that the LORD promised me
    that day.”
    ~Joshua 14:12 NIV

Two night’s ago, I went to the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) for the first time in my life.  I was beyond excited to go because my cousin Dave Walpole, a well-known Youtuber was one of the main actors in a movie that premiered at the festival.  The theatre was packed with about 30 of our friends and family there to cheer David on!  The night was kind of surreal.  I mean, how often are you related to an up and coming movie-star?

Watching him act on the big screen was inspiring.  He had chased after his dream and it motivated me to want to follow after mine.  When I thought about how Dave had followed his dreams, for a long time, and at great cost, I was reminded of a poem by Larry S. Chengges, my Aunt Wendy (also Dave’s Aunt J ) gave me along with my 16th birthday ring—yes, she spoiled me! To this day, I have the poem hung up in my office, so I’m reminded to…

Follow Your Dream Wherever It Leads

I would have been proud of any of my cousins if they were in a movie premiere, but I felt extra proud of Dave.  You see, I was babysitting Dave’s sister Katie when he was born.  I’ll never forget going to the hospital to meet my new cousin when my Uncle walked out of the hospital in a daze.  Uncle Bryon told us how Dave had serious heart problems and they didn’t know if he was going to make it. As a family, we were devastated.  I remember babysitting Dave and worrying as his lips and skin would go blue.

Dave’s love for movies began as a young boy.  Since he couldn’t play outside as much as the other kids, Dave watched his fair share of movies!  In his teens, the doctors were able to perform a surgery that changed David’s life.  The next year he was doing backflips off of the diving board in our pool! I remember being so overwhelmed that I thought I would cry.

I felt the same way last night as I watched Dave follow his dream on the silver screen while he rode a horse across the South-African plain and charged up a hill.  It reminded me of the story in the Bible about Caleb and how he “took the hill country”.  Joshua 14:6-15 tells how after forty-five years, Caleb chased after his dream. Something stirred in him to not let go of the promise that was given to him through Moses. Scripture recounts the story of how an 85-year-old Caleb took hold of his hill country.  First, he defined it, then he declared it… next, he fought for it… after, he and all his family to follow rested in the blessing of the dream.

So, what is the dream God’s placed in your heart?  Define it, declare it, and fight for it, so you and your family can one day enjoy it!

    Prayer

Father… Thank you for your dreams.  Help me not to settle for mediocrity, but chase after the dreams, the plans and purposes you have for my life.  Let me honor You by living life to the full! Give me the courage to take my hill country. In Jesus Name…Amen

  • Dream

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you”
                                                                 Ephesians 1:18 NIV

This week I dropped my daughter off at Southeastern University in Florida. Getting there was nothing short of a miracle! So many things came against Shelby attending school this year, but she was determined God had called her to go and she was going to believe for a miracle. Through prayer and fasting—Miracles she received! Shelby had a dream and she pressed on to believe until that dream became a reality!

The older you get, the more difficulty you have to allow the “eyes of your heart” to be enlightened…to dream! Dreaming comes easier for the young. I think it’s part because they’re closer to childhood and still in the practice of imagining. Youth are often better able to “see” their dream and go after it. Adulthood really frowns upon imagining. You get out of practice and tend to close down the “eyes of your heart” and that hinders you from knowing “the hope to which he has called you”.

Today, I’m praying Paul’s prayer for the Ephesian believers over you, no matter how old you are! I’m asking our Father to open your spiritual eyes so that you will dream His BIG dreams for your life and have the courage to pursue them!

    Prayer

Father…Help me to have the faith of a child so that I can look at my life through your eyes. Please open the eyes of my heart to clearly see what you have called me to so I can chase after the dreams you desire me to fulfill. In Jesus Name…Amen
