“God sits above the circle of the earth.
The people below seem like grasshoppers to him!
He spreads out the heavens like a curtain
and makes his tent from them.”
Isaiah 40:22 NLT
One of the first things in my morning routine is to open the curtains and all the blinds. At the trailer, it takes me much longer than at home to open the blinds and curtains because almost every wall is covered in windows. I do it because, I love light. Even with the increased amount of window coverings at camp…
Opening The Curtains Is One of The Easiest Things I Do All Day.
When I was reading this verse in Isaiah last week the third line jumped off the page. I re-read the verse and thought about what it was really saying. God is so big that He’s sitting above the earth and when He looks down at us we’re like grasshoppers in His sight.
We’re so small…God’s so big!
Isaiah then writes about how God spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent…the place where He lives…from them.” So, God creating the heavens takes as much effort for Him as it does for me to open the curtains in the morning. Think about that. When you understand what this verse is saying, your problems should seem small to you. What issue could you have that would be too difficult for a God who exerts this kind of power?
NO PROBLEM
is too great for our God,
who opens the heavens like He’s opening the curtains.

I challenge you to add something to your morning routine. As you open the curtains and let the light in, declare “My problems are easy for God to handle.”
Prayer
Father…I thank You for being who You are! You are all powerful. No matter how big the problems in my life may seem, NOTHING is too difficult for You! Help me to keep this perspective as I face the trials in my life. Let me apply the truth of Your Word to my situation and walk the confidence of Your character. In Jesus Name…Amen

Sherry, this is such an awesome perspective!!! I am a curtain-opener too. It’s the first thing I do every morning. And now, I’ll always have this new perspective in mind when I do it! What a gift for me today as I struggle with an issue that seems like a little too much to handle. Thank you!!!
Leslie,
That blesses my heart. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m trying to keep this perspective as I open my curtains and pray you do too! Nothing is impossible for HIM 🙂

What a beautiful picture God gives us through His Word of the greatness of the One Who holds us. Yes, each morning when I open the blinds here, I will remember to give the problems to God and allow Him to guide me to that which He desires me to do or be for this day.
I have been blessed today by coming here.
Linda,
So glad you stopped by and I’m praying we never open our curtains the same again! Nothing is impossible for HIM 🙂

Opening the curtains is the first thing I do as well. And from now on, I’ll remember this verse and praise God that nothing is impossible for Him!
Debbie,
Praying you never open the curtains the same again ’cause, NOTHING is impossible for HIM 🙂

I, too, love light, Sherry. I love opening my blinds to the morning sun. My quiet time place looks out a couple of windows. Fixing to head over there now, actually. Yes … I love that God is bigger than any of my problems. I’m studying that this week. Visiting from the RaRaLinkup.
Dianne,
Thanks for stopping by. Praying this simple task reminds you of His great power each day. Nothing is impossible for HIM 🙂

I love your observation that God opening the heavens is as easy for him as opening the curtains is for us. That’s a great illustration of his power and a perfect reminder that no matter what we face, he is more than big enough to handle it.
Lesley,
Hope this observation is stirred up each time you open the curtains, Nothing is impossible for HIM 🙂

I love it when God’s word jumps off the page in such a new and tangible way that speaks to us personally.. He opens the heavens like he opens the curtains. I love that. Have a blessed day.

LOVE this suggestion, Sherry! I don’t have curtains, but I do open the blinds every morning. I will remember your encouraging words tomorrow morning!
