BOLD…STRONG…FREE
“She equips herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task]
And makes her arms strong.” Proverbs 31:17 AMP
I love a good chick flick; within boundaries.
My favorite is Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock. I can’t tell you how many times Shelby and I have watched it, laughing till our sides hurt. We’re a lot like Sandra’s character in the scene when she gets the makeover; walks out of the building all dressed up, wind blowing her hair…and trips on the way out!
NO DAMSEL IN DISTRESS
I love this movie because it’s not the story of a ‘damsel in distress’ waiting to be saved by her knight in shining armor. Please don’t invite me over for popcorn when you’re showing those videos…they just seem a little pathetic to me. I’m inspired by movies where the girls show themselves strong like in Miss Congeniality or better yet, in true stories like the movie Hidden Figures. Now, those were strong women!
When I read verses like Proverbs 31:17 I’m empowered to be the strong woman God created me to be. My heart’s desire is to be like heroines from the movies or history-makers who don’t wilt like a flower in the sun when problems surface, but rise to the occasion using their spiritual, mental and physical strength to accomplish their God-given tasks. I want to emulate the character of women who are strong, yet aren’t afraid of their femininity. Full of grace, brilliance and poise.
Women who are bold…and strong…and free!
I don’t think the Father wants you to sit around waiting for others to come to your rescue. Through the words in this verse God is inviting you to play an active role in saving others. So come on girls, equip yourselves with strength and be bold today!
Prayer
Father…In the face of trials, let me be tough. In the face of struggle, let me be strong. In the face of pain, let me prevail. May Your strength be evident in me to overcome with grace. In Jesus Name…Amen

I loved the ladies in Hidden Figures as well. Bold, strong, and free indeed! That’s what we are meant to be as daughters of the King. He places those qualities in us; it’s just up to us to live them out. Thanks, Sherry.
Lisa, you’re so right! Praying you live BOLD…Strong and Free today!

Hi Sherry,
You are the epitome of a strong yet gentle woman! A woman who rides motorcycles, not minding mud and wind, yet goes deeper with God to discover what he’s saying to you — I so admire you! (And I love seeing you on Instagram through your stories, too!) Always love to read what God’s speaking to your heart! xoxo
Valerie,
Your comments are the BEST!!!! I need to send you a pair of pom-poms 🙂 You too are a woman….bold, strong and free. You know what they say…birds of a feather flock together! So glad we’ve connected and actually even met. It’s not often you get to do that in blogging.
Have an awesome weekend!
~Sherry
YES! I am 100% with you! I am a girly girl through and through, but I have also been created in God’s image. This makes me a brave, intelligent and capable while still being feminine, hospitable, graceful and kind. Women of God are hexagons with so many sides to us! Visiting from Dancing With Jesus
Jessica,
I’m glad we understand each other 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Praying you have a blessed week!
