It’s my desire to have you partner with me to increase the impact and if you sense that tug of the Holy Spirit, I’d love for you to join me on a missions trip! Keep scrolling down to see both of these projects.

Sherry sharing about the Turkana Kenya Water Project
Sherry’s commitment to help provide clean water to those in need was established when she released the first edition of her devotional, Water In The Desert. Her efforts to provide water have expanded greatly! Sherry has partnered with Crossroads Relief and Development in their efforts to make Turkana, Kenya drought-proof! Proceeds from her book sales will be donated to their Streams In The Desert Project. Take a minute to view this life-giving project and consider a partnership of your own.
Poverty resulting from the lack of a constant water source has hindered the growth of crops and food security in the Turkana region of Kenya. There are few, if any, developed wells for community and livestock drinking water. Families must travel several hours searching for water. With your help, Crossroads will dig 10 large-volume, Solar powered borehole wells on 10 separate farm blocks.
Each farm will be divided into ¼ acre parcels of land for 130 families! Crossroads will provide seeds and tools, along with agricultural training. Families will be able to grow their own food year round making them drought-proof! As section six in “Water In The Desert” teaches, God provides water that grows gardens! He makes our “deserts like Eden”, our “wastelands like the garden of the Lord” (Isaiah 51:3).
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
10 Farms, some with 130 Families; that’s 1275 families who will each be able to grow a garden in the desert!
We are excited to report that the first five boreholes have been drilled! Early indication shows the water pressure is some of the highest the drillers have seen in this area. Land continues to be cleared and plots are being marked.
Thank you for those who are supporting this worthwhile project. Continue to pray as we move forward in drought-proofing families.
My feet first touched Guatemalan soil in March of 2010. The dream of going on a mission’s trip had been burning in my heart since I was a teen…and let’s just say I wasn’t a teen at that time.
When I started dating Todd we talked about how we had both gone to Guatemala and realized both had a desire to return. We fulfilled that dream and while we were in Guatemala I was given the opportunity to speak at a women’s event. We had 28 beautiful women attend with only four days notice of the event! Things went so well that I’ve been asked to come back with a bunch of girlfriends and run a week of women’s events in different towns across Guatemala. Future trips will see more of my dreams taking flight in Guatemala and I’m hoping you might join me!
Todd and I traveled with Sam Welten last year. Sam is the founder of Possibilities International (PI); a humanitarian organization that exists to fulfill simple dreams of the hurting, helpless and hopeless by raising up a nation of everyday philanthropists. He has been a friend of both Todd and me for years, actually decades.
Since 2005, Sam has been taking people on cross-cultural humanitarian trips through PI. He’s also the Senior Pastor of New Life Assembly in Petrolia, ON. Sam is the most generous person you could meet (next to my mother-in-law) and has the biggest heart you can imagine!
TO BLESS & REFRESH THE WOMEN OF GUATEMALA
Sam has a heart to help the women of Guatemala. He has seen firsthand the hardships that many women face and has been compelled to do something about it. That’s how this trip came about. Sam and I would love for you to join us on a future trip to Guatemala for THE WOMAN’S PROJECT so we can make this dream a reality. On the trip we run Women’s Events, build a home for a single mom and her children, visit a school to love on some kids and fulfill other humanitarian needs.
Our desire is to bless and spiritually refresh the women we visit so they experience an overwhelming sense of God’s love and unity with their Christian sisters from Canada.
Last year, we only had four days to prepare for the women’s event so we didn’t have things organized like I would have wanted it. Each lady received a very small gift bag, yet they were so thankful. In true PI fashion, I want to give these women the biggest gift they’ve ever received!
I hope you can be with me when we go back and overwhelm these girls with some ‘lemony goodness’ (that’s a Sammy term). There will be prizes of perfume and jewelry and the gift bag will include yet another dream! Inside each ladies bag, amongst other items will be a copy of my Soul H2O Devotional in Spanish! Oh! I can barely take this; it’s so good!
So, why not get your boarding pass and let YOUR dreams take flight in Guatemala? I hope you can be with me when we go back!
