“You prepare a feast for me…”
Psalm 23:5 NLT
This weekend Canadians got together with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, just a little earlier than our neighbors to the South! Today we went to my mom and dad’s farm; and boy did we feast! My mom does it up right! There were two types of meat, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, five vegetable dishes, salad…trays of pickles, olives and hot peppers, not to mention the table of desserts. If you’re going to come to the Fletcher’s for a holiday feast you better have a healthy appetite!
In Psalm 23 God promises that He will prepare a feast for us, and in Psalm 34:8 He invites us to, “Taste and see that the Lord is good…”! The thanksgiving feast with my family is always delicious and plentiful. I can only imagine how lavish a feast prepared by our Jehovah Jireh would be! Later in Psalm 119:103 David says of God’s banquet, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”
God prepares an abundant feast of sweet words for us. We need to approach reading the Bible with a healthy appetite, hungry to hear from Him!
Prayer
Father…I thank-you that you’re not stingy. You don’t give us just a little snack, but instead you offer us a plentiful banquet to feast on. Help me not to waste my appetite on things that leave me empty. I will accept your invitation to “taste and see” that you are good! In Jesus Name…Amen
So, tell me, what is the sweetest word God has shared with you through His Word lately? Write out the Verse or Verses in the Comment Section below:

This is lovely, Sherry, thanks for sharing. Hope y’all had a nice Thanksgiving. 🙂 I’ve been reading in Luke lately, and right now, I’m in the chapters leading up to Jesus’ death, so they’re kind of heavy chapters to read. But, sweet at the same time. His death…evidence of His love. So thankful for Him. <3 Happy to be neighboring you at the RaRa linkup today, Sherry. Thanks for sharing. ((blessings))
Great to connect with you too Brenda! Those are intense chapters, but sweet to think that He did it all out of love for us! Overwhelming and sweet to the taste!
I’ve been reading Ecc lately and read Ecc 4:12 which lite up like never before. I had attended a Passion for His Presence conference in Ft Kent Maine and the guest speaker spoke of how when there is a covenant between people they have each others backs. A couple days after coming home I happen to read Ecc 4:12 which speaks of essentially the same thing. It is so important to have covenant relationships. I am not currently married but I do have very good relationships with a couple Christian friends that I know they have my back. I know they pray for me and I them.
That’s awesome Betty! I love how God ties everything in together! Who we are in covenant relationship with is key!
